Other Than Writing Activities

Dear readers,

For some time, my blog has been all about marketing my books. Would you like to know what I do when I’m not writing or doing author tasks?

I bird and critter watch outside my window from my office, the front glass door to my patio, and the many windows of our cozy home. Since my husband and I both work from our house, it’s much too easy to never take a break! But it’s not healthy.

The area behind us and to one side of us is a nicely wooded area with an intermittent creek. They won’t build on it. They are bulldozing thousands of acres in our area to build apartments, condominiums, and sometimes neighborhoods. It makes me very sad.

Where we live cannot be further demolished. Making me very happy! The woodland creatures are losing habitat at a terrible rate, so I named my area, Sparrow Woods. We’ve got feeders, a birdbath, and other water sources. I jokingly call it my Sleeping Beauty yard.

With year-round food, we have birds and squirrels. Now, the chipmunks have returned. It’s been seven months since I took a photo of a woodchuck on my porch heading for the water tray. I’ve yet to spot deer here, but I have photos of their tracks in the sandy dirt. Took a few photos of cougar tracks as well. Yikes! Hope you enjoy this side of my personal life. *Bluebirds are my favorite! #sparrowwoods

I’m E.V. Sparrow

Coffee imbiber, chocolate connoisseur (sugar free please, so I don’t have to give it up), and the studier of personalities. My current book series of 3 is historical fiction inspired by my quirky great grandfather on my dad’s side of the family tree. On October 27, 2024, The BookFest Awards bestowed First Place in General Historical Fiction upon it! Stunningly unexpected.

Book 2 focuses on his sister’s life, and Book 3 reveals some of his son’s life.

According to many rumors, authors never stop learning. I’m studying and reading cozy mysteries for future projects. I’ve convinced myself I’ve adjusted to the black hole of writing and the author’s life. Why not add more challenges? What could happen?

Glad you’ve visited my site, and hope you’re intrigued enough for us to connect further on social media.
