Bookmark Sketch
Inside our church’s coffee shop, Mary and I drank our mochas. She leaned toward me, “I was told that you’re an artist. True?”
“Yup.” I set my cup on the table, “I ran a mural business for years. Why?”
“I’d like to give first-time visitors to Single’s Ministry a little something. Would you be willing to design a simple, but encouraging bookmark? For cheap.” Mary made a face. “Sorry. You know, budget limits.”
I nodded, “Of course! It’s a privilege. What about a pencil sketch? Color adds expense, and sketches are still original.”
“Sounds great.” Mary tapped her cup and glanced around us. “Draw something that reminds people of their visit here.”
“Hm,” I studied the landscape and courtyard through the glass doors of the cafe, “Hey, what about the crosses? They’re memorable.”
“Go for it. Add a scripture verse, too. Send me the finished product, and I’ll take care of the rest.”
Scripture used—Psalm 139:8-10, “I can never be lost to Your Spirit! I can never get away from my God…If I ride the morning winds to the farthest oceans, even there Your hand will guide me.”
